Alley Cat Allies first launched National Feral Cat Day® on our 10th anniversary in 2001 to raise awareness about community cats, promote Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and recognize the millions of compassionate Americans who care for them.

National Feral Cat Day reaches more and more people and saves more cats every year. In 2016, over 1,344 events were held nationally and internationally—our biggest National Feral Cat Day to date! And it will only grow from there!

Recognizing that community cat awareness starts in our own backyard—and that our backyard might be in New York City, Omaha, Ottawa, London, Istanbul, or Guadalajara, starting in 2017, National Feral Cat Day will become Global Cat Day.

On this day of action, dedicated cat lovers and advocates alike will host spay/neuter clinics, TNR workshops, fundraisers, adoption events, and more—working toward a world where every cat is valued and protected and every community and shelter has policies and programs to save their lives.

Sign up for our eNews to catch the latest updates and get ready to register your own Global Cat Day events. We can’t wait to see how many people Global Cat Day reaches this year!
