The information on this page outlines the terms and conditions for Alley Cat Allies’ rewards for information leading to an arrest and conviction in an animal cruelty case. Please read the below carefully.
- When reporting information to the law enforcement agency investigating the case, the individual must identify that they are providing information pursuant to the reward advertisement.
- In order to participate in the reward program or qualify for the reward advertised by Alley Cat Allies for specific cruelty cases, the individual must provide their name, address, and a complete statement of their knowledge of the subject case to the law enforcement agency investigating the case. There is no guarantee of anonymity.
- Information provided by an individual must result in an arrest and conviction for the offense that the reward was offered for to be eligible for the reward. The information must be information that is not already known by the public, the news media, or the law enforcement agency investigating the subject case. An individual who provided a statement to the law enforcement agency in a case before a reward is offered is not eligible to claim a reward.
- If there are multiple individuals with the same or similar information, only the first individual providing the information will be eligible for the reward. If a portion of each individual’s information was used, then the amount of the reward will be split between individuals in a proportion to be determined by Alley Cat Allies, in its sole discretion, based on the information given and significance of its use according to the law enforcement agency investigating the subject case.
- No reward will be paid until the case is concluded in the courts and a conviction occurs for the offense that the reward was offered for. Any appeals must be concluded with a conviction. An individual deemed eligible by Alley Cat Allies to collect the reward must claim the reward within three months of the date of completion of the case. Otherwise, the reward will be forfeited.
- An individual may not be eligible to collect the reward, in Alley Cat Allies’ sole discretion, if the individual is a victim associated with the crime; a person with a vested interest in the outcome of the case; a person that is required by law to make a report to law enforcement; a law enforcement officer or immediate family member; an employee of any law enforcement agency or immediate family member, whether, full time or in a part time reserve status; a court official or immediate family members (such as, but not limited to: judges, attorneys, clerks, etc.); any suspect or person involved in the criminal act; any person that participated in any portion of the crime or aided or abetted a suspect or participant in the crime or subsequent flight to avoid arrest or prosecution; or, a person working with law enforcement as a “confidential informant.”
- Alley Cat Allies is not responsible for how the reward is communicated by any third party in any printed, electronic, or internet platform. The reward is subject to modification or revocation at any time without prior notice. The offer of the reward expires six months from its announcement unless Alley Cat Allies indicates otherwise.
- In no event shall Alley Cat Allies, its agents, or any party associated therewith be liable to any party for any special, incidental, punitive, indirect, or consequential damages, whether based on breach of contract, warranty, tort, or otherwise, and whether or not Alley Cat Allies has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
