Cricket and Neo Have the Sweetest Friendship—and Helped Each Other Heal

When cats bond, it’s a truly special thing. And we can’t get enough of Neo and Cricket’s friendship!

Cricket was rescued along with more than 90 other cats and kittens from cramped and unsanitary conditions in a single small home. Alley Cat Allies helped provide many of these cats with critical veterinary care in collaboration with their rescuers.

But Cricket was a special case: a condition called carpal laxity meant he couldn’t stand straight on his front legs, and a chronic stomach issue left him at consistent risk of dehydration.

Around the same time in another city, Neo was rushed to a veterinary clinic with a massive wound to his face. Working with our dedicated veterinarian allies, we brought him back from the brink. And though eventually all that was left of the wound was a scar, Neo still had a lot of healing to do in other ways.

When these two came together, it was like magic. They took to each other right away and were mutually grooming and purring in no time at all. Cricket’s bold and gregarious personality was just what Neo needed to feel comfortable and safe. And today, they’re inseparable!

It feels like fate, but in reality, it was all thanks to our supporters like you. Thank you for helping us protect cats and kittens like Neo and Cricket every single day with access to care and so much more.

Kitten Family of Four Officially Has Names!

Meet Cotton, Almond, Churro, and Creamsicle!

Earlier this month, we brought this little family into our care to treat upper respiratory infections. They’re still on the road to recovery, and once they’re ready, we’ll ensure they can move on to loving forever homes.

They’re getting bigger every day, and it’s already hard to keep up with them during playtime! We’re grateful to our supporters for all of the name suggestions on social media (follow us so you don’t miss your chance to help name kittens!), and for the support that has made their treatment possible.

Even better, we’ve been able to ensure they can stay with their mother cat, Strawberry, so they have the best possible care all the way around!

We want to help put accessible veterinary care at your fingertips, too. Find support near you with our Community Resource Tool®.

ADOPTED! Welcome Home, Hemingway and Hazel

Now this goodbye is bittersweet, but heavy on the sweet…Hemingway has been adopted!

We’ll miss him dearly, but we know he’s bringing his larger-than-life personality to a loving home of his own.

We were so happy to share Hemingway’s updates and journey with you, and we hope you’ll join us in wishing him all the happiness and love he deserves.

And just a few days earlier, Hazel finally found her place!

After at least one pregnancy, Hazel was more than ready to “retire.” We wanted that for her, too, and we’re happy to say she’s on her way.

And since she spent some time as the “Office Manager” of the veterinary clinic where she received care (all possible thanks to you!), she has plenty of experience giving adorable greetings, making inspection rounds, and doling out strategic headbutts. All very relevant skills to bring to a new forever home!

We have so many more cats’ lives to save, and we can make the impact that truly matters together—whether for one cat or an entire community. We hope you’ll join us in wishing Hazel and Hemingway all the best. Thank you for helping us save their lives!
