Every day, we’re changing the world for cats—and changing a cat’s entire world with rescue and lifesaving veterinary care! Here are just some of the latest stories of your impact on cats’ lives. We hope they inspire you and warm your heart as much as they do ours.
When you donate to Alley Cat Allies, your gift goes straight to work to protect more cats and kittens. And throughout April, every donation will be matched 4X!
Cricket Doesn’t Let Carpal Laxity Slow Him Down
To say sweet Cricket has come far from his rescue (along with 91 cats) from an Alabama property is an understatement! He spent days at the veterinarian recovering from stomach issues, but now he’s comfortable in a foster home. Alley Cat Allies is providing his medical care, and we’re eager to continue his treatment!
As you can see from his unique legs, Cricket has carpal laxity. This condition affecting his wrists requires splinting to help correct it. Now that his stomach bug is finally cleared up, he can begin that rehabilitation soon.
Not that it slows Cricket down whatsoever. That kitten energy is going strong, and Cricket has never met a stranger. Our team member checking in on him laughed and said he “moves faster than a cat with all four legs in perfect shape.” In fact, she struggled to snap these photos, as he kept racing toward her at lightning speed.
Thank you for helping us protect Cricket, and many more cats involved with this Alabama emergency.

Ladybug is Ready to Land a Home
Though our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiative with the Humane Society of Atlantic County is focused on community cats and returning them to their outdoor homes, we never turn away socialized cats like Ladybug who need medical care.
Ladybug, a poised but kindly calico, had ears that were showing signs of frostbite. After expert treatment, they’re healing nicely, and she’s in good spirits. Now, Ladybug is going up for adoption. We know her pretty face and even more charming personality will light up someone’s home and heart!
To all who give, thank you for supporting our humane care, including TNR, across the country to protect cats like Ladybug!
Rio and Remy are Staying Together (They Wouldn’t Have it Any Other Way)
Rio and Remy finally found their forever home, and they get to stay together! Rio even supervised as the adoption papers were signed.
It’s been a long road to get here. When Remy and Rio were not even 2 months old, they were shoved into a basket and cruelly abandoned. Working with veterinary allies, Alley Cat Allies took on the siblings’ care and rehabilitation.
As they made progress, their bond only deepened. We knew there was no other option but a home where they could grow old together. And today, they’ve found it!
We hope you’ll join us in wishing the best for Rio and Remy. Thank you for helping us save their lives and give them the brightest future!
Senior Cat Leonardo is Looking for a New Start
We’re doing all we can to help Leonardo find a new home where he’ll be loved as he deserves.
At 10 years old, Leonardo had his entire world turned upside down. His owner passed away, and for a period of time, Leonardo was left alone in the house. Once he was finally found, he was taken to a Maryland shelter.
Leonardo has already been through so much, and sitting in a shelter cage was only stressing him more. Working with allies in Maryland, we took him out of the shelter and into expert veterinary care. He has an upper respiratory infection and doesn’t have an appetite, so we’re starting treatment so we can get him perked up and eating.
Despite everything, Leonardo is an incredibly sweet older guy. He’ll sit in your lap for hours! We have high hopes that he’ll make a recovery in our care, and we hope you’ll send him your well wishes!
