YONKERS, NY Alley Cat Allies, a national advocacy organization dedicated to the protection of cats, is hosting a Town Hall meeting, Thursday, May 15, at 6:00 p.m., to discuss the open investigation of at least 25 cats who were killed, many of which were then placed in plastic bags and hung from a tree. To date, no suspects or persons of interest have been identified in the cruelty investigation. Local animal protection issues within the community will also be discussed.

Scheduled speakers include the Westchester County Executive’s Chief of Staff George Oros, City Council member Corazon Pineda, and representatives from the Mayor’s office and the district attorney’s office.

WHERE: Riverview Restaurant, located at 1 Warburton Ave., Hastings on Hudson, New York.

Alley Cat Allies has been working closely with local groups and individuals in the Westchester area. Earlier this week Alley Cat Allies announced the formation of the Westchester Council to Protect Catsa coalition formed to provide advice on cat protection issues and advocate for proactive programs to protect cats. The council is made up of representatives from local animal groups, concerned citizens and a representative from Alley Cat Allies.
