GAINESVILLE, TXAlley Cat Allies will host two events in May to provide educational support and resources for community cat care in Gainesville, Texas. The first event is a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) workshop at the Gainesville Civic Center on May 11. This event will allow residents, policymakers, and animal control officers to learn about the new programs for cats in Gainesville, how they can get involved, and TNR instruction and basic community cat care. The mayor of Gainesville, Mr. Jim Goldsworthy, will be in attendance and available for interviews.

The second event is a Spay Day on May 13 at Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter to provide free spay and neuter services to both owned and unowned cats in Gainesville. Alley Cat Allies is sponsoring the Spay Day, while the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) will run the event. Residents can drop off cats from 8-9 a.m. for spaying and neutering, and pick the cats up the same day at 3 p.m. To participate, residents must make an appointment by calling the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection at (940)-566-5551.
