Alley Cat Allies in the News: Protecting Cayman Islands Cats
Alley Cat Allies is taking a stand to protect cats in the Cayman Islands in response to government-led plans to round up and kill cats outdoors. We were proud to kick off lifesaving work on Global Cat Day, October 16, and had opportunities to speak with the media.
The video is Rosita being picked up by her family after she was spayed through our grant to the Cayman Islands Humane Society! Our first goal for no-cost spay and neuter on the islands is to help 100 cats.

Emporio is Finally Up for Adoption!
If you’ve been following Emporio’s story, you know how big of a deal that is. He has a condition called a portosystemic shunt, which means blood is diverted around his liver rather than through it for detoxification. For a time, this bright young cat suffered seizures and vision impairment, and his playful personality began to fade.
Alley Cat Allies covered the costs of lifesaving liver shunt surgery for Emporio, and with the best care from Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, he made a great recovery. Now, as of today, Emporio is ready to be adopted!
We couldn’t be happier for him or more thankful to our supporters for helping make his surgery possible. Cheers, Emporio!
Keeping Families Together™
Cats are family, too. That’s why Alley Cat Allies created our Keeping Families Together program to equip communities with no-cost food, veterinary care, and other needed supplies to support people caring for cats–indoor cats AND community cats outdoors.
Because nobody should ever feel pressured to stop caring for the cats who are their family and community, or to relinquish them to an animal shelter.
We have big plans for Keeping Families Together! Coming soon: Lifesaving no-cost cat food, vaccine and wellness care, and spay and neuter for cats in Des Moines, Iowa! Learn more.
Terra on the Road to Recovery
Terra was witnessed being abandoned in a parking lot on October 16, so Alley Cat Allies closed out Global Cat Day by taking this little one into our care. We’ll be covering the costs of her veterinary treatment and, when she’s ready, her spay! Then, we’re going to help find her the best forever home.
We can save kittens like Terra, and widen access to care for many more cats, every day thanks to our supporters like you!
