Your Generosity Makes All the Difference for Cats

On International Day of Charity, all of us at Alley Cat Allies want to express our deep thanks to our incredible, compassionate supporters.

As we work to defend cats from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Birmingham, Alabama, and so many communities in between, your generosity is invaluable. YOU are the reason we can save cats’ lives every single day.

Your gifts make a difference for cats and kittens and make all of our achievements worldwide possible. Thank you, as always. If you’d like to give, learn more at alleycat.org/Donate.

Opal is Thriving and Seeking Her Forever Home

Thank you for helping us save Opal! We hope to share good news about her adoption soon.

From providing access to veterinary care to defending cats from cruelty to advancing lifesaving Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)—you help us do it all!

Adopt Aster and Orchid

Remember Aster and Orchid, who we saved with the help of our supporters like you? Now they’re seeking their forever home together!

These siblings are approximately 4 months old and love to play and have fun with both one another AND other cats! Mr. Aster is a bit timid at first, but warms up after some “get to know you time”. Miss Orchid is just as sweet as can be from the very get go!

The kittens are both spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Due to Aster and Orchid being siblings and bonded, they must be adopted together.

September is Animal Pain Awareness Month

For cats, signs of pain may not always be immediately obvious and they instinctively attempt to hide them. When it comes to chronic pain or pain caused by injuries that aren’t immediately apparent, the tells can be missed.

Take your cat to the veterinarian for a check if you observe one or more of the following symptoms. You can potentially find low-cost veterinary care near you in our directory.

  • Hair loss
  • Excessive grooming (which can cause the hair loss) OR lack of grooming
  • Loss of appetite
  • Litter box avoidance or relieving outside of the litter box
  • Unusual lethargy
  • Constant panting
  • Hiding and avoidance of people (if a cat typically enjoys human company)
  • Unusual tension if you are holding or petting the cat
  • Changes in typical gait or other body language, like hunching or moving slowly

No More Babies for Baby

Alley Cat Allies provided community cat Baby with access to care—including spay. Now, Baby will no longer have to deal with the stresses of mating and pregnancy.

Thank you to our supporters for helping us help Baby. Learn why spay and neuter is critical for every cat, whether they live indoors or outdoors: alleycat.org/SpayNeuter.
