George Celebrates One-Year Adoption Anniversary
Happy one-year adopt-a-versary to George!
George is truly a part of his new family and is extremely loved. Seeing how healthy, happy, and mobile he is now, it’s hard to believe that he was the victim of a heinous act of cruelty this time last year.
George found his way to his forever home only after a long period of intensive veterinary care—including surgery to remove his back leg. His leg had been so severely damaged by a buckshot that it could not be saved.
Alley Cat Allies covered the costs of George’s surgery and care, and we’ve visited him several times in his new adoptive home. We’ve seen him open up and his personality shine through almost in real time! And this weekend, we were so happy to celebrate the first anniversary of his adoption with his family!
We’re bringing the celebration to you, too; YOU are the reason we could help save George’s life. Now, we hope you’ll join us in wishing George many happy years to come!
The Spring Kittens Are Still Here Today Because of You
Like her siblings, Bud has blossomed into a beautiful, curious, playful young cat! We’re so grateful to our supporters, who made it possible to rescue Bud, her siblings Blossom, Bee, Bud, and Buttercup, and mother cat Brook from a dangerous shelter situation and provide them with veterinary care through every step of their growth.
Without your generosity, Bud may not be here today. But she is–and only getting cuter by the day! We hope you’ve enjoyed following the Spring kittens’ milestones over the past weeks.
Pookie Takes Her Recovery One Step at a Time
Great news! Pookie is doing well, and she’s almost ready to be adopted!
Back in March, our team rushed Pookie to veterinary care for wounds to her neck, leg, and back. She needed weeks of treatment, pain medication, and plenty of TLC to recover–but she’s doing so much better and showing more of her sweet personality every day!
We’re ensuring Pookie has all of the support she needs for the remainder of her recovery. But she’s come so far, and it’s all thanks to our supporters like you!
Phoenix Rises from the Ashes Thanks to Rapid Disaster Response
Phoenix, a year ago, was terrified, lost, suffering from singed ears, whiskers, and paws, and smoke inhalation.
Phoenix today is vibrant and healthy, with whiskers fully grown back and recovered with minimal scarring.
What a difference a year of veterinary care, attention, and love makes! Phoenix was one of the cats rescued from the Smokehouse Creek Fire in Texas. Though his recovery was a slow process, we at Alley Cat Allies knew he had a bright future ahead of him.
And just like his namesake, Phoenix did indeed rise from the ashes and start anew. He’s still shy, but he’s truly made himself at home in our care and among the other cats who are his new family.
We couldn’t rush in to respond to disasters and save cats like Phoenix without the compassion of our supporters like you. We hope this update warms your heart and inspires you as much as it does us!
