Yesterday a fast-moving fire broke out at the boardwalk in Seaside Park, New Jersey, destroying much of the boardwalk.

Just last week, Alley Cat Allies announced our partnership with Seaside Heights Animal Welfare Group (SSHAWG) to institute a Trap-Neuter-Return program for the cats at the Seaside Heights boardwalk. We’re in close communication with SSHAWG and other groups to make sure the cats are safe.

This morning we heard the good news that the cats at Seaside Heights have been accounted for. Members of SSHAWG will continue to check on the cats regularly, and we’ll let you know any updates we hear. We continue to offer our support to SSHAWG during this difficult time.

Our hearts go out to the wonderful people of Seaside Heights who have been through so much already. We know that their strength and sense of community will see them through this latest crisis to rebuild better than ever.
