WHAT:  Much like community cats throughout the U.S., kangaroos in Australia are being secretly killed. In a new documentary, Kangaroo: A Love-Hate Story, directors Mick McIntyre and Kate McIntyre Clere unveil the widespread, inhumane and profit-driven killing of this Australian icon, which represents the largest land-based slaughter of animals underway anywhere in the world.

Alley Cat Allies, located in Bethesda, Md., will participate in the only DC-area screening of the film to build awareness of this important issue. Alley Cat Allies is the global engine of change for cats, values all wildlife worldwide and supports compassionate conservation.

After the film, Becky Robinson, the president and founder of Alley Cat Allies, will join a special panel with both Kangaroo co-directors in a Q&A session to be moderated by Maureen Cohen Harrington, assistant general counsel at the Library of Congress.

WHEN:  Monday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. Film is one hour and 39 minutes long.
