Join Us at the Arraignment of Colton Fontes for Charges of Felony Animal Cruelty in His Killing of Mr. Meow!

On Monday, May 23, Colton Fontes is being formally charged with felony animal cruelty for maliciously and intentionally shooting and killing a cat named Mr. Meow. Fontes will be arraigned and appear before Judge Douglas C. Boyak in the Superior Court of California, County of Calaveras. This is an important court appearance.

We’ll be holding a demonstration the same morning as the arraignment to demand justice for Mr. Meow. If you can, please join us at the Superior Court of California, Calaveras County, on May 23 at 7:30 a.m. Bring friends, family, and anyone and everyone who stands for all cats.

Let’s show our support for the District Attorney, Barbara M. Yook for taking Mr. Meow’s case forward.

What to Do:Join our demonstration in demanding the maximum penalty for Colton Fontes. Signs will be provided on-site, or you can make one of your own at home.

Let’s build a large crowd at the courthouse to support Mr. Meow and demand the maximum possible penalty: Three years behind bars and a $20,000 fine.

Cats should be able to live their lives safely in any environment. The fault for Mr. Meow’s suffering and death lies squarely with his abuser, not with Mr. Meow simply for being outdoors. All cats deserve protection from cruelty no matter where they call home.

Furthermore, evidence-based research has identified The Link between violence against cats and violence against people. To defend cats is to defend us all.

This is our chance to show the court the overwhelming demand for justice for all cats, including community cats. If you can, please attend the demonstration and show solidarity for Mr. Meow.
