FRANKLIN, INAlley Cat Allies is sponsoring a visit by nationally recognized animal services expert Mitch Schneider of Humane Network to Johnson County Animal Control on February 24 25, 2015.
“We are delighted to have Mitch Schneider here working with our staff!” said Michael Delp, Director of Johnson County Animal Control. “We are proud of our live release rate for cats and dogs and are constantly striving to learn and do even better for the animals and citizens of our community. Mitch brings experience and expertise that can help us in our efforts to continually improve our lifesaving work.”
Mitch Schneider is the former manager of Washoe County Regional Animal Services in Reno, Nevada. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and travels to many different communities across the country to give presentations and provide training for humane officers on techniques proven to create efficient and effective operations. Schneider will give guidance on how to expand customer service and public support while reducing costs.
Alley Cat Allies, the national cat advocacy organization, selected Johnson County Animal Control as a participant in their Future Five: Shelter Partners to Save Cats’ Lives program in 2013, and has been supporting their efforts to improve the live-release rate for cats over the past year and a half.

Schneider will meet with staff, conduct ride-alongs with officers, and deliver training sessions on February 24 25 at Johnson County Animal Control.
