- Every community should have policies and programs that save cats’ lives and allow them to thrive no matter where they call home—even if that home is outdoors. Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and no-cost spay and neuter are principal programs.
- Cats and kittens should never be subject to lethal policies that defined animal sheltering in the past and continue to threaten their lives to this day. No cat should ever be shot in a park or trapped, taken from their outdoor home and feline family, and killed.
- Cruelty to cats should be thoroughly investigated and penalized to the fullest extent of the law, and all animal cruelty laws should accurately reflect that violence against cats is a threat to us all.
- Cats should no longer be threatened by dangerous misinformation and are recognized as safe members of our communities who have a place in the natural environment.
- Compassionate people should have the education and community resources they need to best help cats and kittens, who are our friends, family, and outdoor neighbors.
