George, a victim of cruelty who received critical veterinary care thanks to Alley Cat Allies supporters. He has since been adopted and is doing amazing!
When cats suffer cruelty, Alley Cat Allies takes action in court and beyond.
Our expert team provides support and assistance to prosecutors to bring justice to animal cruelty victims. Equally important, our work helps set a standard for future investigation and prosecution of cruelty.
Because the truth is, far too often, our judicial system does not ensure animal abusers receive a punishment that reflects the severity of their crime. The connection between animal cruelty and child abuse, domestic violence, and adverse mental health and community health outcomes is well established. Research has found that violence against animals is predictive of, and often co-occurring with, violence against people. We call it The Link.
To protect us all, animals and people, it is critical to enforce our animal cruelty laws. And that’s why we do what we do.
This month in Florida, we’re offering our expert support in three cases of cruelty to cats:
Marco Island, Florida
Alley Cat Allies is offering support for the prosecution of Olga Murphy and Igor Mursalimov. Murphy and Mursalimov, cat breeders, are accused of keeping 57 cats with untreated conditions ranging from mild illness to critical distress in deplorable conditions with floors soaked with feces, urine, and vomit. They also reportedly kept between 15 and 20 dead cats stored in a freezer in their living room.
Bradenton, Florida
We have sent our support and offer of assistance for the prosecution of Keshaun Williams. Williams reportedly caused an injury to his girlfriend’s cat. And, when the woman fled to take her cat to a veterinary hospital, Williams grabbed the cat and violently threw them against a brick wall, causing blunt force injuries.
Port St. Lucie, Florida
We are offering our support in the case of Alairic Alec Ramsbott, accused of torturing 8 kittens. Some of the reported injuries included being thrown to the ground, being punched in the face, resulting in a broken neck, drowning, and other trauma. Four kittens rescued from Ramsbott suffered from various injuries and medical conditions.
Justice in the Face of Animal Cruelty
We fight cruelty on several levels, in court, through organizing protests, and by providing critical medical care to victims. And, we win.
Your compassion makes it all possible. By giving to Alley Cat Allies today, we can provide more prosecution support and further action to achieve justice for cats.
