Bethesda, Md.An administrative law judge in the Texas State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) has scheduled March 8-10, 2016 for a hearing on the appeal of Kristen Lindsey. Lindsey’s veterinary license was suspended after she posted a picture of herself on Facebook holding a cat by an arrow through the cats’ head and bragging about the kill. The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners chose to revoke Lindsey’s license in October.
Becky Robinson, president and founder of Alley Cat Allies, said that Alley Cat Allies will remain active in the case.
Alley Cat Allies offered testimony when the Board originally heard the case in August, and staff attorney Rebekah DeHaven intends to stay engaged by offering support and expertise.
“The Board concluded that Lindsey’s actions were contradictory to the standards of the veterinary profession, and we hope that the revocation of her license will be upheld,” DeHaven said.
The hearing will take place at 9 a.m. on March 8-10, 2016, at the State Office of Administrative Hearings, in the William P. Clements Building at 300 W. 15th St., Fourth Floor, Austin, Texas.
