The Vermont House Committee on Fish, Wildlife, and Water Resources is considering a dangerous bill that will put cats’ lives at risk.

The proposed bill will fund a public media campaign to “educate” the public on the supposed impact of cats on bird populations. Coming on the heels of a so-called “study” that irresponsibly furthers a sham debate, this media campaign would be another veiled attempt to increase the killing of cats.

Scientists agree that the true threat to birds and other wildlife populations are human impacts like deforestation, climate change, and habitat destruction. None of these are addressed by H.B. 372.

Don’t let taxpayer dollars be spent on promoting killing cats.
