We at Alley Cat Allies wish you and your entire family a happy Thanksgiving and holiday season! In this time of gratitude, we are endlessly thankful for the lifesaving work for cats that your support makes possible. As you enjoy the warmth and love of the holiday, we want you to know that your compassion for cats is the reason we can:
Fight against cruelty to cats through landmark lawsuits, expert prosecution support, and legislative change. This is the work that saves cats like Elmo and Callie, who were among 22 cats rescued from inhumane conditions in a house and needed emergency veterinary care. Alley Cat Allies is helping cover the costs of treatment for all 22 cats and supporting a cruelty investigation. And, we will provide expert prosecution support once charges are filed.
Provide access to care that saves cats and kittens, including critical surgeries that transform cats’ lives and rapid response in the wake of disasters. When flooding devastated Central Texas earlier this year, the Alley Cat Allies Rapid Response Team mobilized rescue, supplies, and emergency medical care for cats in affected areas. Because of you, we ensured Wink and many more impacted cats and kittens found safety and could recover in the wake of the historic disaster.
Improve communities for cats through nonlethal, evidence-based approaches like Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). This month, we reached a milestone of 6000 community cats spayed or neutered through our latest TNR collaboration in Atlantic County, New Jersey. Through this unique collaboration, just one small part of our decades of action in the area, hundreds of community cats can enjoy a meal this Thanksgiving. Our community cat food bank in the area provided nearly 58,000 meals for cats this year alone!
That is just a small window into what we’ve accomplished together in 2025, and there is much more to come.
The progress we’ve made toward a world where all cats are valued, and every community has humane and effective policies and programs to defend them, would not have been possible without you! For that, we are endlessly grateful.
Your Compassion Changes the World for Cats
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your compassion and support. And as we approach 2026, we are hard at work strategizing even more lifesaving change. We hope you’ll continue to stand with us, on behalf of cats who need our leadership, expertise, and action.
In honor of Giving Tuesday on December 2, your gift to Alley Cat Allies will be TRIPLE-MATCHED to make 3x the difference for cats and kittens thanks to a group of generous donors. You can make a 3x-matched donation now and through December 2 by clicking here.
Thanksgiving Safety Tips for Cats
With all the family gatherings and hearty meals upcoming, Alley Cat Allies wants to ensure cats and kittens have a safe and happy holiday season as well. That means taking precautions so they don’t ingest food that is harmful and even toxic to them.
Here are some of the most common holiday food items that cats CANNOT eat. We hope you’ll share this information to help more families keep their feline members safe. Learn more about what to do if you suspect a cat has ingested a toxic substance at alleycat.org/Poison.
