Pet Food Banks: The Hungry Pet Project, launched by Partnership for Shelter Animals NYC in April 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, provides pet food to financially struggling pet owners. By offering this support, the program aims to prevent pets from being surrendered to shelters or abandoned due to economic challenges. Through collaborations with food pantry partners, including the current partner, North Manhattan Improvement Corps, the project has distributed over $20,000 worth of pet food. This vital assistance program is located in the Upper West Side of New York, NY, and can be reached at (917) 716-4302. Its mission is to ensure that no one has to choose between feeding themselves or their pets.
