Pet Food Support

CHOW provides temporary assistance with pet food for families in need. This program is driven entirely by donations from our community and is available to any family or individual in need of pet food assistance. And for many of families in our community, a little help with pet food makes the difference between staying together or giving up their pet.

Adoption Center/Shelter | 1100 NE 192nd Ave: Please arrive at the Animal Admissions door (on the south side of the building) during regular business hours.

ReTails Thrift Store | 5000 E Fourth Plain Blvd: Pet food is available at the checkout counter at ReTails during regular business hours.

Local Food Banks and Food Pantries: HSSW partners with our local food banks and pantries to provide pet food for distribution to their clients. Available supply cannot be guaranteed by HSSW. Please inquire directly with your local food pantry.

Services Offered: HSSW is home to Clark County’s first public spay and neuter clinic offering low-cost spay and neuter options for cats of low-income families. Spay & Save is a program for cats only. HSSW is unable to provide spay/neuter services for dogs.Government Assistance: $30* per cat
Families who qualify for Spay & Save are those receiving some form of government assistance. Examples include: Public Housing, TANF, AFDC, SSI, Food Stamps (SNAP), WIC, Free or Reduced Lunch Program, Medicaid, Section 8 Housing, Apple Health, PAW Team, EBT.

Low-Income Household: $60* per cat
