Alley Cat Allies is continuing to protect cats with critical care in the wake of the Central Texas flood disaster. Our Rapid Response Team, in collaboration with Texas organization Operation Kindness, is providing support, supplies, and emergency medical care to cats and kittens evacuated from shelters in flood-affected areas.

At a Williamson County shelter, a response team including veterinary technicians remains on the ground to evaluate, vaccinate, scan for microchips, and provide other essential care to impacted cats and other animals. Further out from the disaster zone, we are also providing veterinary support to more cats and kittens in urgent need.

Many of the animals who had to be evacuated were kittens, and mother cats with their young litters. Most had urgent medical concerns when they arrived in our care, including ringworm and upper respiratory infections, which we are addressing with immediate veterinary treatment. Our supporters like you are the reason we can deliver lifesaving care when it’s needed most.

From gently cleaning Tecna’s eyes to carefully washing Wink to providing ringworm medication to Robyn and Ravyn—these are just some of the cats and kittens we’re saving right now. Without our fast action, working closely with advocates on the ground, these kittens may have never received the rescue and recovery necessary to give them a brighter future. Your support, and the impact it is having, is a bright spot amid devastation on a scale still unfolding. For that, we are endlessly grateful.
