Alley Cat Allies sponsored a visit by nationally recognized animal services expert Mitch Schneider of Humane Network to our Future Five Shelter Partner Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association on February 26 27, 2015.
Mitch Schneider is the former manager of Washoe County Regional Animal Services in Reno, Nevada. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and travels to many different communities across the country to give presentations and provide training for humane officers on techniques proven to create efficient and effective operations.
Since Kanawha Charleston Humane Association was selected as a participant in our Future Five: Shelter Partners to Save Cats’ Lives program we have been supporting their efforts to improve the live-release rate for cats over the past year and a half. We are honored to work with and assist Chelsea Staley and her great team in their lifesaving work. Along with our other Future Five Shelter Partners, they have already become a national model and bringing Mitch Schneider out to work with the team is just one more way we can support them in their work for the cats of the community.
Schneider met with staff, conducted ride-alongs with officers, and delivered training sessions on February 26 27 at Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association.
