Update on the Cruelty Case of Shadow the Kitten
We’re so happy to share the news: Shadow has been adopted! He’s made an absolutely amazing recovery after being viciously shot in the eye with a dart. Alley Cat Allies helped cover the costs of his surgery and other medical care, and we’re grateful to our supporters for making it possible. We hope Shadow has nothing but happy days ahead of him after all he’s been through.
But justice still has to be served. Our $10,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person who shot Shadow in Rowlett, Texas, is active.
Jacob Cushingham, 45, was charged with animal cruelty in relation to Shadow’s case. We urge anyone with information to come forward to the hotline detailed in the link above as we seek a conviction. Alley Cat Allies is also offering our expert support in the prosecution of this act of heinous cruelty.
Reno’s Road to Recovery
Some stories of recovery seem like nothing short of miracles. But in Reno’s case, it was a combination of expert care provided by Alley Cat Allies’ collaboration with veterinarians, and your steadfast support!
When Reno first came into our care, he was barely clinging to life. He had a serious wound that was badly infected. Without emergency surgery and round-the-clock care, he had no chance of survival.
But we weren’t about to give up on Reno—and he wasn’t ready to give up, either. Even on the worst days, when we were concerned he might not make it through the night, Reno was determined to live. He endured every step of his treatment and toughed out his recovery from surgery. And, slowly but surely, his strength returned.
We’d say Reno’s transformation is hard to believe, but we saw him push through every difficult step in the process to get to where he is today. So, we believe it…and in Reno, and in the power of your compassion to save cats’ lives!
Thank you for helping us give Reno the care he needed when he needed it most. He’s doing amazing today, and we’re so happy to share his story. Because this is YOUR impact!
Soleil the Casablanca Kitten is Still Shining
True to her name, Soleil continues to shine after veterinary care covered by Alley Cat Allies! Last month, our team was on the ground in Morocco to learn about the many cats who call the country’s major cities home and strategize action to protect them.
When we met Soleil at a park in Casablanca, we could tell she’d been separated from her mother and needed immediate care. So, we wrapped her in a towel and rushed to a veterinarian. She was dehydrated and anemic back then, so we were thrilled to receive the update that she’s doing well today! And, it looks like she’s keeping those baby blues.
Thank you for helping us protect cats and kittens like Soleil all around the world! Check out more about our time in Morocco.
Meet Boston—You Saved His Life
Alley Cat Allies’ Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and medical work in collaboration with the Humane Society of Atlantic County is reaching thousands of cats and kittens with lifesaving care and food. So when Boston arrived, battling a severe upper respiratory infection caused by feline calicivirus, we could provide him the expert treatment he needed.
Boston has since made a full recovery, and he already has a forever home lined up after his neuter next week. His sweet, curious, and bold personality shines through more every day ( these pictures say it all!). We have our supporters like you to thank for it!
We Can Save Cats’ Lives Because of YOU
Alley Cat Allies can only provide lifesaving veterinary care when it’s most needed because of the generosity of our supporters. Every gift saves a cat or kitten’s life: alleycat.org/Donate.
