On September 5, a working group that is making recommendations for Virginia’s animal laws will discuss Trap-Neuter-Return, the only humane and effective approach for feral, or community, cats. The working group needs to hear from Virginians who are in favor of TNR!

Virginia’s Attorney General recently released an advisory opinion on TNR by localities, and Alley Cat Allies’ analysis of that opinion is that existing TNR programs in Virginia fully comply with Virginia law. However, the law should be clarified so that animal control departments, counties, and cities can fully participate in all aspects of TNR.
