Alley Cat Allies has earned the 2024 Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid (formerly GuideStar); the highest level of recognition available from the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations. We’re proud to say that we’ve achieved this status for many years in a row—placing us in the very top percentage of nonprofits in the country in our transparency and accountability.

We truly respect and appreciate our more than 1 million supporters and donors, and we’re committed to providing you with essential and clear information on our critical work for cats made possible by your generosity. This year’s Platinum Seal reflects these guiding principles—and the high standards to which we hold shelters, other organizations, and local governments when it comes to transparency on policies for cats.

We hope this achievement gives you full confidence that your donations are utilized to their fullest potential to save cats’ lives with fearless advocacy, direct care, law and policy change, and more. With your help, Alley Cat Allies is working to…

  • Save cats’ lives in the wake of disasters. When the historic Smokehouse Creek Fire swept through the Texas panhandle this month, an Alley Cat Allies Rapid Response Team hit the ground running to help cats. We drove into still-smoking communities to provide emergency veterinary treatment and deliver critical medical supplies, cat food, and more to save lives. Some cats rescued from the fire zones—Rubble, Phoenix (who suffered burn wounds on his paws), and Mona—remain in our care until they’re ready to be adopted.
  • Provide spay and neuter, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and food for cats. Kicking off today, an Alley Cat Allies Feline Frenzy® in Lebanon, Tennessee is providing spay and neuter and #TNR for more than 100 cats and kittens, as well as no-cost cat food support that will impact more than 600 indoor and community cats throughout the area. We have more Feline Frenzy events to come in 2024.
  • Protect cats from harmful laws, policies and programs. Right now, Alley Cat Allies is testifying against a cruel cat feeding ban in Babylon, New York; standing up for bans on cat declawing in Rhode Island and other states; and fighting to save community cats threatened with removal from their outdoor homes and lethal control in Puerto Rico and the Cayman Islands.
  • And so much more.

We want you to rest assured that your gift has a direct impact on all of this vital work for cats and that you are making the right decision by investing in our mission. The Platinum Seal of Transparency indicates our commitment to the cats and to you.
