A recent study on toxoplasmosis has made news all over the world. But several news outlets have sensationalized the story with misleading headlines claiming that cats may be responsible for suicidal tendencies in women.

The study actually focuses on a possible link between toxoplasmosis and an increase in suicide risk. The Centers for Disease Control say the most likely source of toxoplasmosis is undercooked or raw meatnot your cat’s litter box.
