Your support allows us to address cruelty on multiple fronts and set a high standard for how these cases are investigated and prosecuted. Our team includes seasoned experts in the investigation and prosecution of animal cruelty, and we’re advocating for and providing our own knowledge and training across the United States. Providing Expert Prosecution Support and Issuing Rewards Alley Cat Allies’ expert team takes on cruelty to cats on multiple fronts, including providing support in the prosecution of cases of cruelty to cats (learn more on page 16). But often, the initial hurdle is identifying a suspect at all. In 2025, our rewards led to successful arrests so justice can finally be served. IMPACT STORY: When Alley Cat Allies offered a $10,000 reward for prosecution and conviction in the case of a kitten strangled to death in San Antonio, the response from the public was swift and breathtaking. Within one week, we had a breakthrough—and a suspect was arrested. Now, Alley Cat Allies is offering expert support to the prosecution to seek justice for the kitten, pursuing jail time and a meaningful legal precedent. Supporting Victims of Cruelty with Medical Care Cats who are survivors of cruelty or neglect often need emergency veterinary care—and sometimes it is a matter of life or death. Alley Cat Allies provides access to this critical care, ensuring cats can recover in safety as we seek justice on their behalf. IMPACT STORY: Shadow is one of multiple cats shot with a dart this year, a horrifying trend Alley Cat Allies is exposing and addressing. When we learned that the terrified and confused kitten was stumbling around with a severely injured eye, we provided on-the-ground response expertise. Once Shadow was safe, we helped cover the costs of necessary surgery to remove his damaged eye so he could heal comfortably. Alley Cat Allies is also offering support to the prosecution in his case, where a suspect has been identified and charged.
