| 18 2025 Impact Report LAW AND POLICY Florida Withdrew a Cruel Community Cat Feeding Ban Thanks to our action together, the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners heard the voice of the people! A proposed ordinance to criminalize the feeding of community cats was withdrawn after swift and intense backlash. Alley Cat Allies was instrumental in mobilizing people in the county and beyond in support of Miami-Dade’s cat community members. Without our outspoken advocacy, caregivers in the county would be facing fines upwards of $100 for simply caring for community cats. Three Cheers for TNR! In 2025, Alley Cat Allies represented cats and our supporters across the country by sending letters in support of positive TNR ordinances to the majority of U.S. states. After we spoke out, several communities passed laws and policies that champion TNR and protect cats as community members.
