Our 2020-2021 calendar is filled with inspirational stories and photos of beautiful cats—it’s a celebration of the animals Alley Cat Allies works to protect every day of the year. Our supporters from around the world sent in thousands of cat photographs for consideration in our calendar, and these are the entries we featured. We hope you enjoy the photos of these wonderful felines as much as we do!

Dante—Cover
Dante is one of the friendliest cats you’ll ever meet, says JJ. He’ll eat up any attention you give him and then some! Dante loves to sing and is especially loud when he wants to be pet. Whether you're meeting Dante for the first or hundredth time, he'll greet you with his welcoming meow.
Sterling—President’s Message
Does it look like Sterling is posing for the camera? Maybe so! Kimberly says Sterling always seems to recognize the camera and turns on the charm. Long, lean, and strong, Sterling is also super athletic. If Kimberly’s husband points at a spot in the air, Sterling will jump that high.
Murphy—At a Glance
Gorgeous orange tabby Murphy brought some light back into Marilyn’s life after she’d recently lost her two cats. Sweet and attentive, Murphy makes it his mission to accompany Marilyn to the bathroom at all times! He enjoys sitting in Marilyn’s dining room window to watch birds, squirrels, and insects go by.
Red—October 2020
Red is Thomas’s very first cat, and they have been best friends for 11 years. Though Red had half his jaw removed due to cancer, he’s still his usual feisty “boss of the house” self. Pictured is Red poking his head out of his favorite box, which Thomas made for him.
Grabois—October 2020 Inset 1
Grabois, (pronounced “gray-boy”) is top cat in his community cat colony in Jersey City. His caregiver Kathleen says he has a ton of loveable ‘cattitude’. He may have a reputation to uphold, but he drops the act to let Kathleen give him a quick ear scratch every now and then.
Tiger—October 2020 Inset 2
Tiger is one of the community cats Jan cares for in Tampa, Florida. Though he’s a big boy, as you can clearly see, he’s rather timid and used to only watch Jan from the bushes. These days he’s gotten bolder and even follows Jan around as she feeds other cats.
Mr. Meow and Smokey—November 2020
Smokey, an amazing 20 years old, is the matriarch of the community cats living along the Atlantic City Boardwalk in New Jersey. She, Mr. Meow, and their feline family members are cared for through Alley Cat Allies’ Boardwalk Cats Project.
Moxie—November 2020 Inset 1
Moxie is a peanut of a cat weighing in at just six pounds. However, Natasha says, she’s as vocal as a 40-pound beast! When Natasha’s toddler asks, “What does Moxie say?” Moxie will answer with a meow. Moxie often spends her days following the sun from window to window.
Tortellini—November 2020 Inset 2
Randi fell in love with Tortellini the moment she saw those pretty eyes. When she isn’t playing with her brother, Ravioli, Tortellini loves to curl up in Randi’s lap or be carried around the house. If you call her by name, she comes running immediately.
Ringo—December 2020
Ringo and his sister were adopted by Lisa around 13 years ago. Ringo may look bold and confident in this photo, but he’s actually a bit of a scaredy cat! Described as being “afraid of his own shadow,” Ringo values peace and quiet. One loud noise and he runs for cover.
Whiskers—December 2020 Inset 1
Whiskers is a little cat with a big attitude! He has achondroplasias, so he’s small for his 3 years of age and can’t jump like other cats. However, he loves to run and chase his feline brothers and sisters around. Katelin says he’s developed different meows to tell her what he wants.
Bailey—December 2020 Inset 2
Christmas is Bailey’s favorite time of year—or, more accurately, under the Christmas tree is her favorite snuggle spot! Her owner, Linda, always delays taking the tree down just for her. And, true to the Christmas spirit, Bailey inspires Linda to help even more cats! Linda has fostered and spayed and neutered hundreds of cats since Bailey joined her family, and she credits Bailey with helping her start her advocacy work.
Daisy—January 2021
Daisy looks beautiful gazing out a window on a rainy day in San Jose! She’s not always so quiet and poised; Daisy knows exactly when to meow to get the most treats.
Hank—January 2021 Inset 1
Hank, an energetic and fun-loving 2-year-old mackerel tabby, was discovered with his newborn siblings in the back of a Los Angeles landscaping truck. Now he's ruler of the roost in Kate’s home and spends his days playing fetch and hide-and-go-sneak, watching the world go by out the window, and sunning himself in the backyard.
Otis and Nacho—January 2021 Inset 2
Remember orange tabby Otis? Here he is with another feline sibling, Nacho! Nacho is an affectionate little guy who loves to snuggle with Otis and sleep close to Barbara at night.
Mowgli—February 2021
Remember Moxie? Mowgli is her brother! A strikingly handsome Bengal cat, Mowgli’s favorite pastime is squeezing all 23 pounds of himself into boxes like the one pictured, as well as drawers and wooden bowls. He also loves to snuggle with his feline siblings and Natasha’s 19-month-old daughter.
Luna Lilybee—February 2021 Inset 1
Beautiful Luna is fittingly the same color as the moon—and almost as round! We think she looks incredibly regal at the top of the stairs in her Ohio home.
Beau Beau—February 2021 Inset 2
Beautiful Beau Beau is suspected to be part Russian Blue! He’s extremely affectionate and loves belly rubs but also likes to roughhouse with Vanessa’s dog and his older feline sibling. Beau Beau enjoys playing fetch with his favorite mouse toy and is known to give it occasional baths in the water bowl.
Akila—February 2021 Inset 3
Laurie first met friendly torbie (tortie-tabby) Akila as a kitten during a family trip. Akila spent the entire weekend with Laurie’s family, so they decided to bring her home and make her a permanent member of their household. Today she is 6 years old and the sweetest cat Laurie has ever had.
Gracie—March 2021
Gracie is a much-loved rescue cat living in South Portland, Maine. She’s a tiny girl but is also known to be amazingly athletic, especially when it comes to leaping. Gracie most enjoys perching high atop her kitty condo as the princess of all she surveys.
Sunshine—March 2021 Inset 1
One day in early 2019, Rosemary spotted this orange tabby perched atop her shed and greeted her with a “Good morning, sunshine!” The rest is history. Today, that same cat—named Sunshine, of course—lives in Rosemary’s New Jersey home with her kitten, Sophie. Rosemary considers their meeting a lucky one.
Louie—March 2021 Inset 2
See Louie’s handsome eartip? He’s a community cat who was neutered through a TNR program and lives outside of Pamela’s Florida home. A mama’s boy through and through, he is often found snuggling with his mother, Bobo. As you can see, the birdbath is his favorite napping spot.
Punkin and Be Be—April 2021
Can these kitten siblings get any cuter? Patricia and her daughter made sure to adopt Punkin and Be Be together, as the bonded duo never want to be apart from each other for long. Both are smart, curious, loveable, and gentle. They never play with their claws out!
Lisi—April 2021 Inset 1
As you can see, Lisi loves watching her family from high places (not just curtains, but shelves and the top of the fridge, too). She’s known to be a ham and always keeps her family, human and feline, on their toes. Natalie says there’s nothing Lisi can’t turn into a game.
Angel—April 2021 Inset 2
Angel lives up to her sweet name! Described as a ray of sunshine with a heart of gold, Angel happily trots over whenever her name is called. She even makes sure to greet Pamela each morning before settling down to gaze out of the window at the Arizona scenery.
Winnie—May 2021
Winnie was adopted in front of a Winn-Dixie, a Florida-based supermarket chain—and named after it, too! As you can see by her photo, she's very playful and loves laying upside down. Winnie is nicknamed "Owl Eyes" after her big, expressive eyes and Laurel says she's quite a chatterbox!
White Boots—May 2021 Inset 1
White Boots, also known as WB, has lived with Kim and her husband since 2018. He enjoys chatting, taking long cat naps, ample snuggle time, and plenty of kitty treats. Kim shares that as she recovers from breast cancer, WB often sits with her to keep her company.
Randy—May 2021 Inset 2
Randy's got the best seat in the house and he knows it! Randy likes "stealing" chairs, like this one, to enjoy the warm weather on Mary Jo’s deck. Mary Jo is more than happy to let him commit "chair thievery" and loves him dearly.
Beebeedoo—June 2021
Beebeedoo—also known as Papalooloo or Love Bunny—and his brother live together with Caron. They even get to do a lot of traveling in an RV! Beebeedoo’s hobbies include basking in the sunshine, snuggling in the winter, and curling up in laundry straight from the dryer.
Hootie—June 2021 Inset 1
The late Hootie spent ten amazing years as a permanent foster cat in Marilyn’s home. Friendly and loving, this beautiful tortoiseshell kitty got along with people, cats, and dogs alike. Marilyn says she was “everyone’s favorite” and even greeted delivery people and neighbors who came by. This photo, taken on a fallen tree among azaleas in Marilyn’s yard, paints a perfect picture of who Hootie was: gorgeous and sweet but also the boss of her domain.
Otis and Emmie—June 2021 Inset 2
Otis is a 15-year-old orange tabby and Emmie is a 12-year-old diluted tortie. While Otis is friendly and follows Barbara around like a dog, Emmie is more timid—but still very sweet
Cricket—July 2021
Doesn’t Cricket look like the coolest cat? Lisa thinks so, too: she says he’s the sweetest gentleman who gets along great with his feline family members. Before he moved in with Lisa, though, Cricket was almost trapped and killed. Lisa defended him, and now he’s enjoying a full, happy life instead.
A Community Cat in Croatia—July 2021 Inset 1
Diane and her 8-year-old daughter fed this beautiful community cat throughout their vacation in Croatia. Though they only knew the cat for a week, it was enough to leave a lasting impression!
Zoey—July 2021 Inset 2
Zoey is a gorgeous torbie (tabby-tortie) who Lisa adopted in 2012. She often spends time on the rocks around Lisa’s pool, like the one pictured, to watch the insects fly by. Zoey is known as the 6-pound boss of Lisa’s household and runs the show among her five feline family members.
Elemira Kyoko Kira—August 2021
Elemira Kyoko Kira (Ellie) is 12 years old, but you’d never guess based on her kitten-sized stature. She weighs just under six pounds! Affectionate and energetic, Ellie enjoys playing fetch and chattering at birds she sees through the windows. She lives with Carrie Ann and her brother, Professor Eliot Glacier.
Romeo and Hamlet—August 2021 Inset 1
Though Romeo and Hamlet are both orange tabbies who Elmina’s husband met by chance and brought home, they aren’t actually siblings! They’re just as close, however, as you can see from this photo. Romeo lives up to his namesake as a lover boy; just look at him and he starts to purr. Hamlet is just as sweet,and is known as the “other lap dog” in the family.
Calico Girl—August 2021 Inset 2
Calico Girl lived a long and happy life on Cindee’s Indiana countryside property. She was Cindee’s good friend for a dozen years before she passed away in 2019. Cindee says though Calico Girl is no longer sleeping in the wildflowers, she is still curled up in her heart.
Dymphna—September 2021
Sharon found Dymphna at her local roll-off site 10 years ago. An attendant said someone abandoned her there, so Sharon took the little cat home. According to Sharon, Dymphna is a tiny girl with the biggest heart. As you can see, she also enjoys sitting in some unique spots!
Shadow—September 2021 Inset 1
Shadow is both elegant and a rascal all at once. He has tons of personality and speaks his mind loud and proud. When Shadow wants to go outside to enjoy the day, like in this photo, he strokes the window blinds with his paw to get Eberhardt’s attention.
Joe and Bell—September 2021 Inset 2
Joe, the orange tabby, and Bell have been together and bonded since they were kittens! Young and playful at 2 years old, they enjoy sleeping with Robert, climbing their cat tree, and drinking water straight from the faucet. No matter what they’re doing, they always keep each other in sight.
Chester Taco—October 2021
Chester Taco is a little mysterious in the best way. He showed up out of the blue in Neil and Noelle’s yard 10 years ago and promptly became the king of the house. He is the official mediator of the family and will break up any fights between his other cat siblings.
Jack—October 2021 Inset
Can you paint a more perfect October picture? Sleek and mysterious, black cat Jack looks like he’s in a museum painting against a backdrop of natural fall colors.
Monroe—November 2021
Community cat Monroe caught taking a drink in his outdoor rural North Dakota home. He’s one of Madelyn’s five “barn cats” who lives happily at her farm. He’s one of the more “elusive” cats of his feline family, so Madelyn was thrilled she could snap this photo.
Scooter—November 2021 Inset 1
Scooter, 10, isn’t just devastatingly handsome with his tuxedo coat—he’s intelligent and loving, too! Though Scooter was shy at first, he quickly came into his own, and even puts up with Jenny’s 85-lb dog! These days, Scooter often keeps Jenny company as she works from home.
Taos Snow—November 2021 Inset 2
Named after her birth town of Taos, New Mexico, Taos Snow was the perfect cat to come into j.Madison’s life. j.Madison is certain Taos Snow had been mistreated and, as a PTSD survivor herself, was committed to helping Taos Snow recover. Today, she says, they both have helped heal each other.

Regal Bo is a community cat living with his feline family in Utah and cared for by April. Known as the “security officer” of his colony, he often watches from a tree branch as April sets out food to make sure she does it just right.

What a mesmerizing shade of blue those eyes are! In this photo, Patch is attempting to “help” Mary as she makes a quilt for her friend. Okay, he’s mostly trying to snuggle in it, but Mary says that’s just how he is. Patch loves to be held and cuddled and is an easygoing guy.
Olivia—Playing
As you can see, Olivia is quite a quirky charmer! Robert says she’s like silly putty because you can mold her any way you like.
Mistletoe—Playing
Everything, including this flower, is a toy to spunky Mistletoe. He dances around on his hind legs out of excitement to play with strings, bouncy balls, and pretty much anything he can get his paws on. When he’s finally out of energy, Mistletoe curls up in Pamela’s arm to nap.
