Help Us Name Our NEW Office Cat!
The national headquarters of Alley Cat Allies in Bethesda, MD is home to our beloved office cats. They enrich our lives with their antics (captured in our weekly LOLcats) and serve as a constant reminder of why we are here - to protect and improve the lives of cats.
On December 14, 2008 we lost one of our trusty cat companions. Coo, the "old man" of the office at 13 years old, was Alley Cat Allies' poster cat proving that being diagnosed with FIV is not a death sentence. His passing has been mourned by the cats and humans that loved him. Though his unique personality will be missed forever, a year after his death we miss the dynamic of a 6 cat office.
That's why we are excited to announce that we will be adding a new member to our office cat family! This black, short-haired, young male was found during Trap-Neuter-Return efforts at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Cats Project, part of our Every Kitty - Every City program.
However! The newest addition to our office cat family needs a name - and we'd like your input! We collected your great cat name suggestions and narrowed it down to the list below. Now it's your chance to vote for your favorite!
The results are in! Meet OLIVER!
It was a close vote, but the people have spoken! Our new office cat will be named Oliver. It has a nice ring to it, don't you think?
Thank you all for participating! Look forward to seeing Oliver in our Alley Cat Allies LOLcats, posted every Friday on our social networking sites: Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.
