Feral Cat Health

Feral cats do not pose a public health risk. Additionally, they can have the same lifespan as pet cats, and they are just as healthy. The rates of infection of various diseases between feral and pet cats are equally low, and so feral cats are of no greater risk to humans or other cats than pet cats.

This section highlights research and protocol treatment information for feral cats on health topics including: FIV and FeLV, rabies, and other zoonoses; stress and the feral cat; and general information.
