Rachel Gorlin

Rachel Gorlin is president of Tipping Point Strategies, a political media consulting firm. Her clients have included elected officials at the local, state and federal levels all over the U.S. Before entering the private sector, she worked for the New York City government and on Capitol Hill for nearly 15 years. Her ads have won several “Pollie” awards, considered the “Oscars” of political and public affairs advertising. Her interest in feline public policy stems from her work with feral cats in her Washington, D.C. neighborhood. She is married to Chris Hanson, a professor at the University of Maryland’s College of Journalism. They adopted Buttercup and Locket, two of their seven cats, through ACA. The other five – Moka, Louise Brooks, Chirpy, Gigunda and Pumpkin – are former ferals who adopted them. In addition, Rachel and Chris feed a small colony of outdoor cats in their Washington, DC neighborhood. Rachel joined Alley Cat Allies as an independent voting board member in 2009.
