Thanks to the support of loyal donors like you, we've been very busy this month protecting cats around the country. Here are just a few of our current projects and successes:

Care for Kittens with Our Kitten Photo Gallery
Kittens in hand

Kitten season is upon us! When little ones show up on your doorstep (or under your neighbor’s porch, at your local clinic, etc.), it can be tough to tell how old they are. Knowing kittens’ stage of development is crucial for caring for them properly. We created this week-by-week photo resource that chronicles the first 10 weeks of three adorable kittens’ lives, so you can see exactly what growing kittens look like every step of the way.
Check out our great photos of kittens growing up!

Adoptable Cat: Fiona Apple
Adoptable Cat: Fiona

Fiona Apple may have the piercing eyes and the dark, mysterious stare of her namesake singer, but she’s no diva. This fluffy girl just wants to get close to you! Fiona always keeps an eye on you, looking for a chance to cuddle or have her luxurious black coat petted. She’s perfectly happy sharing the stage with other cats, so add her to your family and give this striking beauty a harmonious home.

Alley Cat Allies' Spay-a-Thon in Canton Begins May 30
Black and White Cat on a Path

All year, we’ve been on the ground helping the compassionate residents of Canton, Ohio, change their community to protect animals. As part of our ongoing efforts to help this city care for cats humanely, we’re sponsoring a two-week Spay-a-Thon for all cats—pet, stray and feral—at One of a Kind Pets Spay & Neuter Clinic. This free event will begin on May 30 and continue until June 13. If you’re a Canton resident and want more information, call us at (855) 264-CATS.

Changing Communities for Cats on National Feral Cat Day® 2012
National Feral Cat Day 2012 Logo

October 16, 2012 is National Feral Cat Day®, and our theme this year is Changing Communities for Cats. Protecting cats and changing communities to help them is bringing society—the place where you live—in line with our values of caring, humane and ethical treatment. As the big day gets closer, we’ll show you how to follow the example of communities like Washington, DC, that have transformed the way they care for cats and have embraced cat-friendly policies and practices. This year’s NFCD is going to be the biggest yet, so save the date to celebrate with us!

Pre-Summer Cleaning at the Boardwalk Cats Project
Atlantic City Boardwalk Cat

The Boardwalk Cats need your help this weekend to get ready for summer. There’s a job for everybody! Lend a hand by filling cat shelters with new straw, repositioning shelters to protect them from weather, repairing any damage, and cleaning up the area. Cleanups are tomorrow, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (meet on the beach at the Taj Mahal) or Sunday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (meet at the intersection of Tennessee Avenue and the Boardwalk). If you're able to help, contact Amanda at or 609-892-6235 to volunteer.
