It’s a new yearand with it comes a resolution to make a difference. “¯I am proud to report that in 2015 Alley Cat Allies and advocates all over the nation worked harder than ever to protect cats everywhere. We fought for humane, incentive-based policies, best practices in shelters, launched new Trap-Neuter-Return programs, and spread knowledge and awareness.

ShareGraphic_NewYear2016-300x300Now at the start of 2016, I see a chance for all of us who care about cats to pledge ourselves anew to the cause. And those who have never advocated before can resolve to get involved in something amazing. Every voice and action matters, and every year the movement to save cats’ lives grows larger and stronger. Together, we have upended the status quo, moved TNR to the mainstream, and helped countless cats and kittens. But there is still so much work to be done and thousands of communities that need humane programs for their cats.

That is why I am making my New Year’s Resolution to protect cats in 2016, and I hope you will too. Every single personregardless of experiencecan take action and help cats by changing their community.

Resolve to encourage your local shelter to adopt humane programs for all cats. Work with your local government to support cat-friendly ordinances and laws. Learn how to conduct Trap-Neuter-Return for community cats and share your experience with others. Become a community cat caregiver. These are just some of the actions we can take to make our communities better places for the cats we love.

A new year is a new beginning, and a new chance to help all cats; from pets to community cats and everything in between. I, joined by the whole team at Alley Cat Allies, resolve to save even more cats and establish more sustainable, lifesaving programs in 2016. I hope you will join us.

Make your New Year’s Resolution to protect and improve the lives of cats, and help make 2016 the best and safest year for cats yet.

For the cats,
