Q: Do you pick up vehicles only in certain areas?
A: Through V-dac, our third-party vehicle donation program, vehicles can be picked up from all across the United States.

Q: What happens after I submit my vehicle donation form?A: Alley Cat Allies DOES NOT MAKE THE DECISION TO ACCEPT OR REJECT VEHICLES. A third-party vehicle donation program (V-dac) makes ALL decisions about vehicle condition. Your form is forwarded to the company that processes vehicles in your area for Alley Cat Allies. This company makes the determination of whether your vehicle is accepted or declined. Acceptance is based on more than one factor, including condition of the vehicle and your geographical location. You will be notified of the status of your donation within three business days of submitting a vehicle donation form.

Q: How much revenue does Alley Cat Allies receive from my donated vehicle?A: A portion of the net proceeds (approximately 70%) from the sale of your car goes directly to Alley Cat Allies. Towing and administrative costs are deducted from the gross sale of your car.

Q: I want to know if you'll accept my car. If I call Alley Cat Allies, can you tell me?A: No. First, Alley Cat Allies does not make decisions regarding which vehicles will be accepted or declined. Second, there are no set parameters that determine the acceptance of a vehicle. It is best to submit a vehicle donation form, which will be reviewed by our vehicle processing company and then they will make a decision.

Q: Will you send me a tax receipt for my donation? How do I determine the amount to claim?A: You will receive a tax receipt from the company that processed your donation, V-dac. All donations are tax-deductible in accordance with current tax law. Please contact your tax professional for more information.

Q: Once my car is accepted, what do I do?A: You will be contacted by a towing service to make arrangements for the pick-up of your vehicle. Since you have provided all of the necessary information on your vehicle donation form, the required paperwork is already done for you. You only need to provide your vehicle, ownership papers, and keys. However, you may want to request a receipt from the towing service.
