 | Every day Alley Cat Allies is contacted by caregivers, trappers, advocates, local organizations, shelters, and municipalities seeking support for cats in their communities.
Through the following campaigns, we are mobilizing individuals and communities to support cats and press for changes that will stop the killing and improve the lives of cats. |

Lives Count, Secrets Kill Animal pounds and shelters kill more cats entrusted to their custody than they save. But the killing usually happens in secret, away from the public eye. While some facilities keep track of their own numbers, few ever reveal them to the government, let alone the public. As part of the Lives Count, Secrets Kill Campaign, Alley Cat Allies is urging state governments to pass laws requiring these facilities to keep track of every cat they take into custody—and to report to the public each and every fatality. Citizens nationwide deserve to know the real fates of animals inside pounds and shelters. It’s time to bring the facts into the light—and stop the killing once and for all. Learn More »

Meadows of Chantilly Alley Cat Allies and our countless volunteers are promoting the humane care of cats through the Meadows of Chantilly campaign in Chantilly, Virginia. This is just one example of a situation that occurs daily in communities across the nation – cats’ lives are threatened due to lack of information about humane methods of management or property managers wanting to take the seemingly “easy way out” despite the cruel and costly consequences. Americans are demanding more. This campaign underscores the power of collective action – advocates banning together to send letters to the management company expressing their outrage, allowing Alley Cat Allies to gain the footing needed to enter negotiations.
